Updated: May 29, 2020 We understand that an unplanned extended break can be stressful but it is important to remember that routine is important for kids, especially during uncertain times.
Why is routine so important? Routines provide toddlers and young children with a sense of security and stability. They gain an understanding of everyday procedures and what is expected of them. And once the COVID-19 outbreak has concluded, children will be expected to pick up where they left off and be thrown back into normal life and formal learning. By keeping routine at home while daycares and schools are closed, you can make this transition easier and your children can continue learning to read, engage in problem-solving skills, and gain knowledge with your parental interim guidance.
Osceola Reads provides all children in Osceola County access to the reading app Footsteps2Brilliance for free. If you have forgotten your child?s super secret code, please contact us email@example.com. For Osceola County School District students, they can log in using their student ID.You can also enjoy the Osceola Reads Virtual Read-Aloud Library with your children. This gives your voice a break while your family enjoys a children?s book read by familiar faces from our community. Many other organizations are also providing free resources you can use during daily academic time in your daily routine.
Please continue to check back, as we will be adding additional free resources for families as they are made available. We understand that home-schooling is a new adventure for many of our families and followers.
